The Avery Hotel is a quaint and historic property that is perfect for almost any kind of event, gathering, or vacation. We had an incredible time exploring the multitude of unique items on display throughout the house, enjoying the bar, playing pool, and lounging around on the grounds. The property was a perfect escape away from the hustle of the city. Our hosts were wonderful - they introduced us to the property and were quickly responsive when we had questions or issues. We highly recommend planning a stay at the Avery Hotel!

My family really enjoyed staying at this place. The bar and kitchen was a fantastic complement. Terry was an awesome host. We had over 20 people in our group and they all loved it. The stay was unique and allowed for us to not only bond as a family, but enough space to have alone time when needed. The fire pit was great to roast marshmallows and tell stories. We will make this stay at your home our yearly tradition. My entire family loved everything about this trip.

This is a great place for the price to rent a small historic hotel, located about 50 mins from Bear Valley Ski Resort and about 5 mins from Arnold. It definitely feels like you are in a time capsule catapulted back to the early 1900s. The big draw was the centrally located pool table (medium sized but well maintained). There is a TV, fireplace, piano and plenty of seating in this central area. The kitchen is relatively updated with plenty of space to manage a large cookout. There is an outdoor barbecue pit also, located about 40’ in the back from the kitchen. Out in the back, there is a large covered pavilion, a separate outdoor log-seat type stage area, fire pit near the stage, and a decent sized grassy yard located right next to the hotel with plenty of seating areas. Just note that this is more of like a historic hotel, but is very well maintained and very clean. Upstairs where most bedrooms are has only one bathroom. All bedrooms have a small sink and heater which is very nice though. There is also a decent sized poker room upstairs with 2-beds located there too. We will definitely come back to this place.
Great place!

This place has been a true discovery! located in a beautiful area of the Sierra Nevada, the Avery Hotel is full of charm and character. The innkeeper was so nice and helpful I wish I had more stars to give her. Now I am hoping I can get another large group to rent it again!
Perfect place for a retreat!

We rented this hotel for a weekend retreat. Plenty of beds for everyone. The commercial kitchen is fully stocked and the dining room table comfortably seats 12-14 people. Having enough space allowed everyone to get what they needed from the weekend. The hotel comes with a resident cat but if allergic, Terry will take him out if you let her know. Terry was responsive and fixed issues when necessary. We recommend the hotel for large groups seeking comfortable accommodations.
AMAZING House

This is a gorgeous property with amazing owners. Terry helped us every step of the way and was frequently in communication with me regarding a winter storm. The house itself is gorgeous and has plenty of space for a large group. Couldn't recommend more staying here- it was actually our second time staying! It's also super close to Arnold/grocery store so it's very convenient, but you also still feel like you're secluded and can enjoy the nature.

My husband and I were married at the historic Avery Hotel on 09.08.18 and it was absolutely perfect. From day one Fred, Terry, and the rest of the Avery staff were incredibly responsive, helpful, and kind. The Avery Hotel is set in the majestic Stanislaus National forest. They had everything we needed and we loved that we were able to spend the whole weekend there. And the price is incredibly affordable! The hotel was the perfect venue for our special day and I would recommend it to any couple looking for a Northern California wedding venue.
The hotel and grounds are beautiful. The interior of the hotel is spacious and decorated lavishly. There is a super cool saloon style bar for enjoying beverages with friends and a commercial kitchen for preparing meals. There are bathrooms both downstairs and upstairs and the water pressure in the showers was great. All the rooms are unique and the beds were very comfortable. Our guests all loved exploring the space!
The kitchen appliances, door locks, baths and showers were all in great shape and fully functional.
We were married on the stage which was recently stained and looked great, and Terry provided a lovely white backdrop for us to decorate. She also laid out a long white runner for our aisle. Terry was incredibly accommodating, even collecting candlesticks and other decorative items for us to use. The pavilion outside is also beautiful and seated our 100 guests perfectly for dinner. The Avery hotel provided the tables & benches, as well as white linen tablecloths and napkins.
The property has tons of twinkle lights which are so pretty at night, and there are lots of tables and chairs around for relaxing. The hotel provided speakers both indoors and outdoors which made for some great dance parties. They also had 2 port-o-potty's available outside. We really didn't need to bring much as they had so many things covered!
Overall, our experience was wonderful. The staff, hotel, and amenities were amazing and made our wedding absolutely perfect. If you are looking for a unique weekend wedding venue, take a tour of the historic Avery Hotel - you'll fall in love.
